About CAL and our History
Established in the mid 1980’s by Raman Parbhu as a small family business, Commercial Autos Limited quickly built a reputation for buying and selling quality used Japanese trucks.
Raman’s brother Ashok joined the business in 1992 and brought with him an extensive knowledge of accounting and commercial law. Their combined skills enabled them to clearly understand what potential buyers were looking for and the brothers worked well together keeping their initial focus on providing a service based on honestly and integrity for anyone wanting to buy a used truck.
By 1996 the company had continued to grow rapidly and exploded into new premises on the main State Highway just north of Hamilton. With this shift came the expansion of the mechanical workshop together with speciality engineering and coach building departments as well as their own panel and paint facilities. 1997 saw the sudden and tragic loss of the company founder Raman but Ashok continued to focus on Raman’s original vision and against the odds, again, took the business into its next level.
However with this growth the company has not lost sight of the original values established by the company founder Raman Parbhu as it continues to put honesty and loyalty to its clients as the prime building stones in this very successful company.
